BlackRock Offer and Layoffs
I have a full-time Analyst offer from BlackRock, but now I'm worried since they just announced job cuts. Do you think I should be concerned about this? I also have an offer from a suisse bank which I haven't rejected. Do you think I should consider changing?
What did they say when you asked them about the outlook for their business going forward and what happened to people who got offers before the last recession started?
what are the offers for at both places? and which swiss bank is it? im assuming Credit Suisse?
Analysts are cheap and from what I hear the cuts are on the more senior levels. I'd go ahead and take it but not before having a good convo with HR about prospects and career path.
My $0.02.
BlackRock is very well-positioned, I think they laid-off around 200 people.
AMG, PAG, FMG or PM? For PAG, bear in mind that you'll be working i-banking hours at sub-i-banking pay (also, you're expected to come in on Sundays). Is Credit Suisse paying you a significant premium? If so, I would probably go with them.
no point asking about business outlook. any capitalist worth their salt will be bullish on their on company regardless of fundamentals.
