Entry Into EM Sovereign Fixed Income/Credit

Hi, so I will be interning in credit research sub-sovereigns soon (credit rating agency) but I am really interested in breaking into Emerging Markets Sovereign Credit/Fixed Income in Asset/Investment Management. It seems there are rather few other internships open in this space so I was even looking into Fiscal Policy at the Central Bank to deepen my Sovereign Research Background but ultimately I do want to work as an Analyst under a PM looking into different EM Sovereigns. I will be done with my Postgrad in Economics at a target school soon and only have that one internship into this direction lined up yet. I am thinking about trying to find internships that are aligned with this focus and also recruiting for graduate programs end of this year but for now I am kind of stuck. I am reaching out to professionals and cold emailing Funds with positions in this area. I am aware that this is extremely narrow of a position so I am also looking into general fixed income AM recruitment. Are there any tips? Am I thinking about the strategy towards my dream career in a wrong way?? Please help.
