Goldman Sachs Hirevue IMD
Hey guys, was just wondering if anyone else got a hirevue interview invite for IMD and if they could share their experience. Also, some people are saying that the hirevue invitations were a mistake. Any thoughts?

Nope. No hireview for IMD yet. I believe it runs a bit slower than IBD. I was told by someone at HCM that IB runs on a much faster timeline because of the number of applicants they get, so there still may be hope haha.
I applied to imd and mbd and received my hirevue when they did. Wondering if it was a mistake or not.
Still says "Application Received" on my portal. Was your application for FT or SA? If you have credible reasons to believe that there might be a mistake with the Hirevues, I would just contact HR and check.
Does anyone who did the IMD hireview, or hireview in general care to shed some light on the questions? Thanks.
Bump, I have the same question.
did you apply to GSAM Investment Strategies? I applied there and have not heard a thing. Also how did the hirevue go?
I did applied GS IMD Investment Strategies and completed my hireview last week. Very basic behavioral questions. Just prepare as you would for any behavioral and situational questions. As well expect 1 or 2 market-related questions for IMD.
Did they tell you which group within IMD your HireVue was for? Also were the market-related questions catered to the industry you are pursuing/most relevant to your resume or were they much more general (i.e. macro stuff)? My application status still says application received, but I've networked my ass off so I'm expecting a HireVue at the very least. Best of luck!
No the Hireview is entirely just behavioral questions not specific to any group or whatever. The market-related question is very general. Things get more specific if moved to the next round, which would be a 2 on 1 skype video interview, where it's more personal and specific questions where you can express your interest for different groups or asset classes. Then after that round, if moved to the superday, you interview with different specific groups within GSAM, and then if a group likes you they can extend you an offer. hope that helps.
How similar/different are the GS and JPM Hirevues? Can we take as much time as we want between the questions or does it move simultaneously?
I just finished the hirevue. Has anyone gotten an acceptance to the next round and can reflect on how they think they did on the Hirevue? I thought I did alright but its so hard to know when talking to a damn camera.
Same here, just finished it. I find these video interviews to be so difficult and feel like I'm blowing my chances by not sounding/being natural during them
Completely agree, I find that I'm really stiff during them and it affects how i talk. I definitely think they will get rid of HireVues in the next few years because they find they can't gauge how a kid actually is by watching them sit in a suit and tie and talk to a camera. We just got in recruiting at a bad time.
Has anyone heard back for next round? I did my IMD hireview almost a month ago and it seems like they haven't even viewed it yet..
Same here. Mine still says selected to interview
anyone else receive word after their interview?
I just received a hirevue invitation for IMD at 2 am, hopefully not a mistake. But if any of you have any updates, please keep us posted!
I also just received a hirevue invite this morning for IMD too--does anyone know what the market related question is?
Which location did you get it for?
Philadelphia! What about you?
Market-related question was: Describe a recent M&A transaction you followed on the news and found interesting. Explain why you found this interesting.
Can you post the other questions please?
Nah, I'm not gonna give you an advantage for a position we may be competing for.
All situational - just prepare for standard behavioral questions and you'll be fine.
Do you mind being more specific? How many questions was it? Would be much appreciated.

Yup. That interview was hard. Had no idea how to react to some of those situations.
If you interviewed for Northwestern Mutual, then why did you want specific Goldman IMD hirevue questions? I'm sorry but you just don't sound honest.
When do you all expect to hear feedback (invite to second round or rejection) after completing the Hirevue last week?
Hard to say. It shouldn't take more than a week or two, but I have no idea how Goldman HR is.
I just got a hirevue for Chicago IMD. Did anyone get one this late too?
Yeah, I completed my hirevue for NY IMD last night, not entirely proud of my responses but we'll see how do you think you did?
.
I applied to the Investment Strategies team within IMD- I am unsure if this is PWM or GSAM. Anyone have any insight? I can't find too much on their website.
When I applied I chose "Client Solutions" which I believe is only in PWM. I think the role you apply to dictates which group you are applying to.
I had my HireVue with Goldman in Philly on October 25th and am still waiting for a response from them. I was wondering if anyone who applied to the Philly office has heard back from them or still waiting? Thanks!
Still waiting as well
Anyone know if they're still sending out superday invites for IMD?
Sounds like nobody has heard back regarding next rounds
has anyone heard back about next steps after completing the HireVue? still nothing for me
Did you get any updates on the next steps? Did my hirevue on 12/22 still waiting. My status says "selected to interview" but I'm assuming this is referring to the hirevue.
nothing for me yet either, my status on the application portal says the same thing. where was your interview for? mine was for the DC office
Chicago Superday for IMD is this week of 12/3.
