So basically you dont have the ubs gig but your resume says you do? Out of curiosity, did you list your reponsibilities for this non-existent position?
They contact everybody going back to your highschool. Did your background check ppwk go back that far?
A friend of mine said that JP Morgan does not do background checks because it wasn't mentioned in any of the papers he signed. I said that they must do a background check, but I am not sure.
JP PB does do background checks and they most likely will call UBS.
I'm still confused how you put UBS and did not take it off your resume. What did you say during your JPM interview? What did UBS hire you and you were going to jump ship after two months?
I was hired by ubs in January. They kept screwing up my background check b/c misinformation on their part and mine. I turned in my JPMorgan resume in feb. expecting to be working soon; I made an unwise decision and put it on their.

I know for a fact that JPM does perform a thorough background check. Now, I don't know if they exactly call the individual employers/high schools/ etc. They state that they will contact the employers within 48 hours and get back to you if they can't verify.
As asked already, did you list your responsibilities?
They will absolutely check UBS. I would imagine they didn't check Northwestern Mutual because frankly, they could care less about that job. FA/ Brokerage positions are not really relevant to IB and are not a huge concern for them.
And the UBS job was what? Op spec said PWM / Private Bank Where you got IB I dont know. They will check everything, even northwestern.

Wait, so you put UBS on your resume and you didn't fill it out in terms of responsibilities? I'm guessing then you're wondering about an application you just sent in but you haven't received the interview then right? Cause if you already had the interview, they must have asked about UBS and you wouldn't have been able to say anything if you didn't do the internship yet. Or at least I hope that's what happened and you didn't fabricate work experience during the interview.
Anyway, yes JPM checks. And lack of UBS will be flagged.
