Private Credit Resources

I have an upcoming interview for a direct lending 2021 summer internship role and was wondering if any of you could provide some useful resources about the landscape. I have been reading as much as I can get my hands on but would like to know if there are any "must reads" out there. Thanks!

Yeah I have primers and stuff but... it just so happens that I may be creating a direct lending exercise right now as part of a future online course. For example, I’m going to source the credit agreements from a bunch of key, public deals I found. Then, spread the key terms, and analyze vs. the other deals. Will require a lot more work than passive reading tho

I heard a lot of people mention that book. What is so valuable about it, besides basic information written in broad generalizations. Yes, reading primers is the logical 1st step. However - I am of the belief that the most engaging and efficient way to learn is through examples and exercises, and practicing / reviewing / increasing to incrementally more challenging exercises or concepts over time. Anyways - what’s the deal w/ this book?

It’s a pretty good introduction to the HY and leveraged loan markets, albeit on the simpler side. I would say it lays out the fundamentals of levfin and credit investing in an easy to understand way. For someone who doesn’t have a lot of experience or knowledge about these areas it’s a good starting point, but it’s definitely not completely comprehensive.

Curious as to how one can go about these examples and exercises. Im working in a private debt FoF capacity so I’m familiar with the markets/mechanics insofar as news resources like LCD and Refinitiv and books like the above mentioned are helpful. Is learning more just a matter of reading credit docs? What sorts of analysis do you do with them? Would love to hear ideas
