Exit Opportunities for a Commercial Credit Analyst

I am currently going through a rotational commercial banking program and I have been curious as to what my exit opportunities might be after working as a corporate credit analyst for a couple years. I am currently studying for the CFA level 1 exam (taking it June 2014) and I have interned at an investment bank in the past. Most people have told me that the skills people acquire in credit are easily transferable to fixed income but I would like to hear what everyone else has to think.

Great question. I'd also like to know the answers to these questions as I am considering applying for credit analyst roles

Questions will generally be fit related with basic accounting questions possible. Skills are somewhat transferrable to mezzanine funds and leveraged finance. Pay is mediocre initially then ramps up significantly once you are an officer. Depending on the bank the lifestyle can vary. Generally it is your typical 40 hour week but it can vary. You likely wont put in more than 50 hours though.

How big is the bank?

Also, do you have any idea what size companies you will be working with? Is this corporate banking, business banking, middle-market, etc... It's all basically the same, but exit opps, culture, pay will depend on the bank.
