Better Path to Get Into a Hedge Fund

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to ask, which route according to you all is a better/easier way to get into a macro fund and why is it so?

  1. IB (M&A) -> HF

  2. S&T -> HF

Thanks a lot for your time.

These two routes enter different strategies/types of hedge funds. Go do some research on different hedge fund strategies and you might start to see why one favours a banker Vs a trader.

This is kind of like asking "I want to be a scientist, should I study biology or chemistry" when the question is really what type of scientist do you want to be?

Hi, just wondering if credit is possible from both IB and S&T due to IB having the deal experience and familiarity with debt structures etc, whereas S&T is macro overlook and all that?
