1st year bonus - Starting in M&A

Ok so I am starting in M&A.

How does one go about asking about the bonus set-up (i.e. how it's calculated, when it's padi etc.). Obviously it's been a faux pas to discuss remuneration so far, given I haven't started working, but when do I ask and whom? Do they provide you with some sort of employee manual which sets this out? It is not explicitly spelled out in my contract.

How does this work exactly?

Are you serious? Do yourself a favor and DON'T ask about comp.... seriously how do you not know what a first year will get paid or what the comp structure is? This is literally a 5 second google search. Bonuses will be down this year and next, but there isn't a calculation. They rank you against your piers and then there are three tiers.

Haha touche... I guess the combination of my indignation and lack of desire to proofread what I wrote since I haven't gone home or showered got me good on that one.

If you worked under me I would give you a fifty cent bonus for asking such a dumb ass question

How would I know the system if I am yet to work in the industry? That is why I am asking here and now. Prior to now, I had noe need to know

There is no way you work in finance judging by your posts.. unless its similar to a one man operation and you're the one man.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.
