2 Month Lateral

Lately I've been looking around the job posting sections of the usual employment websites and have seen openings at other banks (presumably because analysts have left after 1st year bonuses hit). Some of the positions are interesting but are directed at those who can fill the position with a similar level of experience (i.e. an analyst moving into his/her second year). I started my FT IB analyst gig at a MM shop ~2 months ago and am curious if someone with this little experience would be considered for the positions I've seen pop up (even if hired on as a 1st year). I'm not necessarily looking to lateral yet, but I'm always open to making moves for better opportunities. If a position in a good group in a BB was to open up, I'd be interested in giving it a go. Anyone have any input or know of anyone who's filled one of these positions earlier than after a full year's worth of work?

I'm in similar position except that I have been working in a BB Corp Fin group (FO/MO) for nine months now. From my observation, most people start to leave after six months into the job or longer. Not sure if the new shop would understand you reaching out to them (why would you leave after just 2 mos? You didn't like the job/couldn't handle the work?) Just my two cents.

The only reason that they all get to continue living like kings is cause we got our fingers on the scales in their favor. I take my hand off and then the whole world gets really fuckin' fair really fuckin' quickly and nobody actually wants that.
