2019 housing advice
Hi guys,
Trying to figure out what's reasonable to spend on rent in my particular situation. Working in (non-BB) AM so same base as 1st year banking but with much better hours / lower bonus - meaning that dinner / ubers home at night etc aren't going to be expensed, I'll generally have a lot more time to do things that cost money and would like to enjoy being 22 in New York, and I can't expect to have over-spending made up for at the end of the year. Office is a bit uptown of Times Square (near MS) so most lines work but would most prefer to be off the 1/C/E if possible and definitely want to stay in Manhattan. I know most analysts working in Midtown East tend to live around Murray Hill, is there a corresponding neighborhood on the westside? What should I expect to be spending on rent, especially if I get a 2/3 bedroom with others?
