Hey, so I came out of the first few months of 2025 with no internship for the summer of 2026. I am pursuing IB, what are my chances of landing an IB SA role this late. And if it’s not reasonable, what kind of positions should I look for to later be able to lateral? Or even a similar career to stick with.

I’m sorry dude, but you might be cooked. If you don’t have at least 4-5 BB/EB/MF offers by now you are most definitely cooked this recruiting cycle. I wouldn’t stress though, some good options I’d looks into are big four corpfin roles; backoffice, even.
Any companies in particular that could align with a good career switch down the road? And is there any more IB/banking recruiting for the summer of 2026, or is hope completely lost? I have a back office role at a MM this coming summer (2025). Should I stick with that and hope for a lateral?
santander, socgen, ubs, solomon might still be in the process, db opens up again in the fall, worst case scenario recruit for mbb in june/july and use a mckinsey junior summer to recruit full time banking
