2nd Year MbA Recruiting
Hey guys,
I currently go to a top 15 business school. I recruited for banking in the fall, but struck out(2 Superdays, 3 more first rounds). Is there any market for a second chance at recruiting ala consulting or am I finished?
Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Bump for help
If you didn't do banking for the summer you're pretty much done. There will always be random one off cases where someone who didn't do a banking internship got a full-time offer so you can give it a token try but don't expect much traction.
Get a finance gig (FP&A, Corp Dev, IR etc.) at an F500. Target IBD groups within the sector of your company. Leverage your industry knowledge of that sector and the main players, investors in that space.
Don't discount FP&A. You have to turn over every stone and understand every line item. You'll beef up your financial/business analysis skills. After 1 or 2 years, you can transition into an industry group and I bet you'll be able to sound very knowledgeable in interviews, conversations with bankers/clients in that sector. That translates to bank-ability/client ready.
Trust, this works. Good luck.
Know a guy who did Top 15 MBA and didn't get a SA gig. He found something finance related for the summer, and then networked like crazy and ended up getting a FT offer in Charlotte. This is more rare than common and requires a ton of work, but it's not impossible.
