750 GMAT for HSW only -- worth retaking?

I'm currently a 1st year analyst at an EB and I'm interested in going to business school (like every dickhead monkey only HSW or equivalent -- figure not worth it in terms of cost / opportunity cost otherwise). I got a 750 my senior year of college. I prepped with a tutor from Manhattan GMAT for two weeks so I figure putting my bonus towards 1-2 months prep I can probably push it up to the 770+ range.

I know for these schools this is a good, but not exceptional score and I'm an otherwise a typical banker candidate who won't really stand out on paper -- is it worth a retake while I'm still an analyst? Or is it more of a check the box thing and I shouldn't waste my free time studying?

Normally I would take it if I end up PE where work life balance is better (I'm currently writing this from the office waiting for books to print), but I'm leaning more towards business school as I'm not sure I'm interested in that whole route. Any feedback is appreciated.

Not worth it. 750 is good enough, adding another 20 - 30 points won't make a huge difference. Instead of spending 1 - 2 months studying for the GMAT again, I would recommend spending that time perfecting and refining your application essays and securing good references. If you really want to stand out from the typical banker candidates you might want to consider getting some sort of voluntary or charity work on your CV. But if you work at an EB your chances are already good with that score anyway.
