It did just recently switch to 70k and without much inflation I dont think it will up to 80k anytime soon, unless of course we have runaway inflation and the end of the world, but thats more for bernanke cynics :P
There's no telling how much it will be bumped or when. It just depends on when one big firm decides they think it's time to try and snag some talent by upping the pay a bit. Or if cost of living in NYC gets even more ridiculous. Or any reason, really.
