$9000/month Summer Analyst!!!
stumbled across wharton's 07 summer employment report and noticed that he salary range for financial services peaked at $9,000!! is that possible?

Sure it is. I saw a wharton MBA report where someone made $400K BASE straight out of school. Granted I realize that this is for undergrad, but talented wharton kids have their pick of the best finance jobs.
I mean they could have also been signing on as a senior associate pretty much anywhere especially if they have 4 years of banking (resigning banking) or the 2+2 IB PE
I remember hearing about or maybe even reading on WSO that some undegrad made just under $40k in a 10 week BB SA stint in IBD because they paid by the hour. I'm still undecided as to whether or not I believe it, but $9k is definitely possible.
Yeah I go paid by the hour at one of my internships. Was always nice when overtime hit Wednesday morning.
^It definitely happens. Some BB regional offices (i.e CS LA) will pay 1.5x overtime. Over a 10 week stint, SAs can make like ~35-40k gross

False...Shaw doesn't give even close to 300k guaranteed comp out of undergrad...
I made $20K at my summer banking internship because I was hourly, and got time and a half for all hours over 40. Really adds up when you pull 90 hour weeks. HR didn't know what they were getting into when they put the banking interns in the same pay bucket as all the other interns, heh. I was making a higher base than the analysts in the cube next to me :)
I mean did you get a bonus at the end because if you didn't the overall comp was probably similar to an analyst

before tax i pulled in 24k this summer. some other kid who padded hours on a weekly basis (not that anyone checks/cares) pulled in close to ~30 (pre-tax). after tax its a bit more than half of that amount
$9k/month? I would imagine these numbers are only from BBs???
Know someone who made $30k over a summer (10k a month), in undergrad. Hedge fund though.
