ADVICE FOR IB RECRUITING

I am a non-target school and non-diversity applicant that has applied for many IB internships, mainly NYC. High gpa, campus involvement, and a past finance industry internship. Have had a few HireVue screens throughout Feb, but have not heard back since. Should I be worried? What is timeline usually like for recruiting? What banks do I still have a chance at?

Extend your graduation imo. As a non target non diversity candidate myself the goal should be to have at least 4 relevant internships experience. I would spend time now trying to make sure you have a finance internship for this summer and in the fall. GL

My belief is that, if you’re capable and put in the effort, persistence is the biggest determinant of success in recruiting and once you hit the desk. I wouldn’t listen to these kids telling you to give up - keep grinding out networking, interview prep, and whatever else you need to do.

It’s been quite a few years since I recruited at this point, but I recall getting my EB offer in June. Also, when I was still in banking I’m almost certain we were still recruiting past March, so you surely are not out of time.
