Advice Needed - Lateral opportunity gone b/c of restructuring
Hi all,
I recently went through the process for a lateral opportunity, with interviews wrapped up over the festive period. Unfortunately, over the same period, a restructuring happened within that firm, and they basically withdrew the vacancy. My feedback was strong across all interview rounds (no negative feedback whatsoever), and the MD / Dir in charge of hiring did ask HR to pass on an apology to me, whilst saying that they will consider me for further opportunities in the future.
I'm conscious that bonus season is around the corner, and there may be people leaving then. Has anyone been in this situation before, and could you advise whether it's beneficial for me to keep in touch with the MDs / ASOs who interviewed me directly (bearing in mind that recruiting is like 5% of their daily task)? Right now b/c of bank policy they have to go through a HR contact person, but I'm worried that I'm just a number in HR's view and they'll likely not remember me. I've connected really well with the team if that helps.
Thanks in advance.
Have you considered that they're bluffing you, and you've been waitlisted?
