Advice on trying to move from MBB Consulting to IB

For background, I graduated in Spring 2023 and went to undergrad, Ivy, B-school (you could probably guess which...) and studied finance. Previous experience has all been at niche buy-side firms (L/S equity HF, real estate PE, portfolio management).

Started at an MBB and am specifically aligned with the Private Equity practice, but am beginning to realize I don't enjoy it as much as I would banking given the lack of exposure to financial markets and modeling (which I love).

I've only been at my current firm for a few months, but am looking to make the switch to a BB and remain in NYC. Any advice or stories from/about people who have been successful at making the shift from consulting to IB would be much appreciated.

An MBA isn't the worst option if you want to switch careers

Not sure you'd be able to get a spot at a BB right now with very limited seats. An MM would be much more doable right now, but still hard
