yeah i don't think you are going to get any contributions to this...no one is going to burn their boss on a forum, way too much risk for no reward.

you need to be able to work for/with a$$holes at certain stages in your career. you don't always get to choose who you do business with.

You have to learn how to manage laterally and up regarding your manager or anyone that you work for. Not to mention, there are levels/degrees of these people. For instance, they might just be really difficult to work for. Some people may be able to stand it, some people may not.

There is really no way to avoid every single a-hole you will ever meet or work for, so I think a counter-post idea for you wahaha008, may be how to deal with difficult managers, rather than get contstruct a laundry list of managers you don't want to work on based on someone else's personal reccomendation you don't know that well, through a discussion forum.

I agree that most people are not inclined to offer names because there are risks

but

For the names that do show up, they must have a bad reputation for others to take the risk and call them out

I can benefit from that thanx again for putting up names

most of us are random people to each other, some people still help

if you have something to lose, don't say anything

if you don't care, feel free to drop name

you don't have to post anything, plus I'm more interested in the names that you provide than your opinion

I want to see the whole picture b4 making a choice

also, you need to get alone with your boss if you want to move up.

I rather surround myself with people I like in some sh*t bank, have a good rep, move up than to be stuck or booted after 2 years b/c I can't get myself on my boss's good side

if I have to pull the long hours, who I work with is going to matter. if you really don't like someone, how long can you keep up the game face, people can tell and i be screwed in the long run

different people get along with different people.

i may like someone you hate. that's why you need to meet the people before you sign on with a group. random people on a forum can't help you with that.

there a guys some people completely hate, but i get on well with. and vice versa...so not sure how useful the list is anyway.

a fairly likely scenario is that you get put with someone who is a dick, but will teach you a lot. what would you do then?
