Allen & Co. 2025 Recruitment/Update on Bank

Heard about the firm from a friend that it's similar to mklein but more secretive. Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the recruitment process as well as some insights into the firm (comp, culture, exit opps). Thanks!

You need a strong inside connect to even be considered and they likely won’t bring you in unless you can be an asset to the firm.

Very hard to break into, but boy if you do it’s the place to stay.

Why is it the place to stay? Comp? Genuinely curious, obviously the best in class media practice on the street.

I really question how much a place like that would value/care about your development long term as a career banker. If you don’t have “value” to bring to the table as said above, what is there for you long term at a place like Allen? The Allen family certainly isn’t “passing down” relationships like a firm such as CVP is for the next generation of partners at the firm.

Warren Buffett notoriously hates investment bankers yet is a regular at their annual festival.

They are the white shoe firm of white shoe firms. 3 transactions annually and somehow they’re 4th on the league table. A private investment arm that holds a huge stake in coke and makes various value investments.

An interesting spot.
