Hate to be the bear of bad news but the likelihood of this is little to none. All of your pre-banking experience is irrelevant and after 14 months (unless you've done an absurd amount of deals) you're still a good 1.5-2 years out from an associate promotion if you lateral.

Lateraling as an analyst almost always sets you back a year vs your peers and any bank that hires you will have to see you prove out before bumping you.

 

I’m interviewing rn for an associate role for context it’s a real estate group, and I was in real estate private equity it’s an m&a group at a brokerage firms IB arm that also values CRE experience (CBRE/JLL/Eastdil)

In most cases I’d agree with you though hoping this is a unique exception
