Are Non-Targets Screwed Again?

Currently an SA at a BB and was thinking about that if it were not for the state of the markets when I was recruiting last year, I probably would have never received this internship (I go to a non-HYP Ivy League, didn't network at all, no finance extracurriculars, and not diverse). This made me ponder: the last 2 classes of non-targets have had it great, relative to the past. In the last year I've seen so many non-targets land offers at top banks. It's been wonderful - it's so cute and they look so happy! However, with rising interest rates and falling deal activity, hiring will return to being a recruiter's market rather than an applicant's... In light of this, are non-targets screwed again?

I go to non target, non diverse, no networking AT ALL at all, got a BB S&T SA for next summer, and maybe MF REPE SA. Easy to get past interview stage, hard to sell yourself.
