It's the never-ending cycle of wall street: 1) holy shit, I just got fucking PAID, I'm a master of the universe, I could do this forever; 2) this place fucking sucks, no one cares about me; 3) why the fuck am I doing this, I'm sacrificing everything and they don't deserve me, I'm quitting...

If bonuses continue to be 90%+ of base with consistent raises, I'm here and will be continue to be even over the buy-side. Drop a single percent under that and me and many others will be out. It's that simple
Why a single %, will that change?
I say that as this level of comp needs to continue and we are firm on that. Maybe a slight exaggeration on the single % but the days of 50k bonuses for analysts being acceptable are gone in my eyes.
People are here to vent not quit. Who will do it does it quietly.

Yep, still quitting. The money makes the leave a little less satisfying but wouldn’t have changed my mind nonetheless. Money can’t buy happiness or buy back all the weekends/holidays I missed
