Autism among IB analysts

Simple vent and question. Why would you receive my connection request, read it, ACCEPT it, and then ignore it? A week passes and I send you a second message, and get promptly blocked (??). Why not just ignore the request? Genuine question

Is this a case of "500+ connections" hoarders?

Autism is a bitch, and I get how you feel. You’re constantly wondering if your behaviour is lining up with society’s social norms. So I understand you overthinking.. but we need to understand is that humans are complex and not black-and-white. This person could’ve blocked you for a variety of reasons. I would try not to overthink it

Dude, you are NOT going to be able to handle how IB Analysts get treated in this line of work if this is frustrating to you lol.

I will admit, I have done the same thing (minus the second message ghosting part - there was no second message) with a person that tried to network with me on LinkedIn (i.e., accept the connection, read the message and never reply). I was planning on responding, but responsibilities kept piling up and I kept procrastinating on it, until I felt it was too embarrassing to reply several weeks later. Not proud of it, but I'm willing to bet the same thing happens to plenty of professionals in the industry.

To infinity... and beyond!

You had to make 2 posts with the same body for that? No wonder you got blocked.

Also, tired of requests from rando  Gen Z kids not explaining why they are reaching out. Something as simple as "interested in your background in equity research in this industry and was wondering if you had any advice for a new grad trying to enter the field." That would seriously suffice and would be happy to reach to a kid like that.

Literally 95% are a request with no context. Hence, I never add them.
