Autistic MD
My MD is as autistic as can be. Micro-managing me to death, the other day he commented on my usage of a particular word within an entire email.
Any tips on how to deal with such an autist whom also happens to be your MD?

Out 'tism the 'tism. When he acts autistic, act 2x more autistic back to him.
By doing this you can beat him at his own game.
Update me when you get your MF PE offer.

Lowkey there is a super high incidence of people on the Spectrum in finance, myself being one. A lot of them are just also intelligent enough that they learn how to behave from observing others and it's not obvious at all. Others grind nut-to-butt on Lazard Interns at their housewarming party and get fired for their 'tardiness.
It is tough if it's an MD though. What I'd say is that for people like me, we realize we can be a bit quirky and thus are extremely open to improving and being told when we're being difficult or off-putting or whatever. But I'm humble and a 26 year old Associate. When it's an MD you're dealing with I can't imagine quietly telling them in private "Hey you're kinda doing that thing again..." goes over well.
My advice? Kill him. Yup, murder 1. Premediated. Sneak your sheath & dagger to his palace and give him one in the back of the neck as he pours a cabernet. You shall then inherit his palace, his throne and his chalice. You are the MD now. Enjoy.
Dude this is such a sick plan!!!
hey uhhh you're kinda doing that thing again...
Unless you're prepared to start looking for a new job just let it go.
It is typically not worth the time or trouble to worry about.
Or...at random times throughout the year tell them you have a deeply personal matter to discuss and then proceed to ask them to check the grammar and punctuation on something insignificant.
Give him a fidget spinner and make a playlist of train watching youtube videos for him, that should keep him busy for a while
