BA From McGill vs. MA From Edinburgh

Hello,

My friend is choosing between a BA from McGill (Social Science), and a MA (Scotland's undergraduate arts degree) in Management from Edinburgh. Which school would be better for recruitment in CANADA? Which school would be better for getting into an MBA program down the road?

Thank you for your help!

  1. There is no recruitment for Canadian Unis' social science faculties. h That is, unless you are in McGill Business faculty which obv. has recruitment. Economics dept. doesn't have official recruitment, but many people break in on their own by networking their asses. off. Edinburgh business also has nonexistent recruiting.
  2. McGill will obviously be better recognized by MBA schools down the road, and very well recognized in general. During my interviews (3/4 were in New York), the interviewers regarded McGill very highly (Same as Cornell / Berkley , worse than Yale, Stanford, etc ... And better than Duke and the like)
  3. Unless you go to a target school, there will be no recruitment. You will have to break in on your own. I mean, I know someone who went to some Jesuit College for undergrad, and he is now working at BarCap. It's all stalking the executives until they have 2 choices: Find you and kill you OR give you an interview

Source: I go to McGill, 2 of my friends went to Edinburgh
