Back to Banking?

Hey everyone - long time, first time.

I recently received an offer to join a global MM bank as an associate. I'm seeking any advice you all have to offer.

My main question is: How accommodating / understanding are banks toward junior bankers with families? I'm not asking for a 9-5 by any means. I simply want to know what to expect. I have reservations about getting back into banking. My analyst stint left enough scar tissue from management at my old firm to make me consider leaving finance altogether. Today, I have a family to consider and want to be present in my kid's life.

Quick summary about my background: Currently in corporate finance and strategy. Before this role I was an IB analyst for a couple of years (all within the same sector). Untraditional path to IB, and I miss the client-facing role, transaction world and network of institutional capital.

Should I take the plunge? Thanks in advance. - Crockett
