Background Check - Help
I wonder if anyone has experience with background check with First Advantage? I am currently undergoing background check for my IBD summer internship. For one of my previous internship experience, I am not able to contact the HR person who knows about my internship, as it has been some time ago.
Now my bank is coming back to me to ask for the HR contact details for the second time - Is it okay that I asked them to contact my direct supervisor for employment verification instead? I sent the background check agency my supervisor's contact details in the first time. Now they seem to have contacted my bank's HR and they are asking for the same thing again..... I am very worried that I might lose my offer for not being able to give the HR contact details..... Any help/advice would be appreciated.
I never understood why these background check companies don't just ask for you to submit a pay stub or some sort of hard to create doc, to authenticate your work. What is stopping someone from just having their friend be the contact and pretending they worked with you? Would also save them a lot of time and energy.
Sadly I have lost my employment contract as well - It was my first internship and I blame myself for stupidly not looking after the docs. All I have right now is a reference letter from my supervisor and his contact details. There isn't anything shady on my CV.. It is just very difficult to find out who know about my internship after a good two years.
Sorry to hear about that. I had an employer where they would just verify that you had worked there and nothing else - fear of a law suit. I would reach to your old manager and get them as a reference or a letter of recommendation. If a manager won't do it reach out to somebody else that would. This would allow for verification.
