BAML Global Loan Producs - Analyst Programme Info
Hi,
Applying for FT atm and came across this programme at BAML:
Global Loan Products (GLP) sits within Global Corporate and Investment Banking and has primary business responsibility and oversight of the Large Corporate Loan Book – a book of term loans, revolving credit facilities and other credit products to multi-national corporations and global financial institutions.
Has anyone had any experience with this department and the work they do? Any info will be appreciated!

Xcelmodels, I take it from your other posts that yon applied FT for London. Have you heard back from BAML regarding your GLP application? Thanks
Hi - I haven't worked in GLP but I worked with a couple of guys who did. The work they do in their words is closer to the Corporate Banking side where you're dealing with basically lending the BAML balance sheet. But since the Corporate Banking guys do more of the execution, the GLP guys are looking more at monitoring the portfolio of the loans.
Hope that helps.
GLP was just mover into the Credit umbrella at BAML. Realistically, it is now part of GBAM (which isn't a bad place to be). It's not investment banking, but I know a few guys who've moved to IBD with a little leverage. And they really like GLP. Sounds like a great place to start.
Thanks for the replies guys. Just a few more qs:
Do you know what the hours are like in GLP? What did your friends like about the division?
Hours are better than IBD. I'd say around 60-70. Paid the same as a BAML credit analyst, and one guy was able to secure an IBD offer from another bank, which was matched by BAML. The MD's were really cool, and the people in it seem like good people to work with.
Are you referring to the team based in the US? I know a few people very closely within the team in London and their hours are pretty good (typically 9 - 6 on average). They essentially work on a daily basis with corporate banking (and sometimes leverage finance) on capital modelling (Basel III) and at the senior level, focus on approving/rejecting credit requests via their internal credit investment committee.
