BAML/CS/CITI FIG NYC vs LAZ/EVR/PJT non NYC/SF

I have to make a choice about these options soon for FT. I'm not sure if I want to do PE or do career IB. Would really appreciate any input.

Unless you're very inclined to pursue financial services PE or banking, I'd take PJT Boston M&A and LAZ Chicago M&A/RX over the FIG group, as non-GS/MS/JPM FIG tends to make moving out of FIG difficult and the former two have broader, solid placement. If the boutique position is, say, LAZ/EVR Houston (presumably O&G focus), being in NYC might be a meaningful advantage if you're not set on energy/oil&gas. Just my two cents.
