BB PubFin or MM Tech IBD?
I recently got an offer from a top BB (GS/MS/BofA) Public Finance group and also a top MM (HL/JEF/WB) tech group in Boston. Not sure what I want to pursue in the long term, but looking for a stable and decent life.
1. How hard is it to internally transfer from PubFin to other groups in BB?
2. Is Boston a good place to start a banking career?
3. Is it really difficult to exit the PubFin world if I don't enjoy my internship? Is an MBA possible for a career change?

I’m on a similar path. Already in PubFin and I’m looking to exit towards tech. Would like to know what the responses will be to this. So far I’ve heard lateraling is hard but not “impossible”.
I would start at the tech group in Boston. If you’re not sure you want to do munis, it’s better to start on the corporate side of IB. PubFin tends to lateral decently to DCM maybe LevFin or syndications to a lesser extent.
