BB VP viewed your linkedin profile - Should you do anything?? Advice needed.

Hi guys, I'm looking for a FT job. A VP at a BB viewed my Linkedin profile few hours ago, should I do anything? For example cold email him? Or do anything else? Need advice. Thx.

Hello! Thank you for your speedy reply. What do you suggest me to start my email? ( I have no connection with him at all) Should I introduce myself- college, major, etc. But how to jump to " I'm interested in hearing about your background/story"? Thank you!

Anytime. Something along these lines:

"Hi Joe,

Hope this note finds you well. I came across your profile and genuinely admired your career success and wanted to reach out to you for some guidance.

(Talk about your story, then transition into asking about his)"

Remember, be careful inquiring about the job too early. Act as if you're truly seeking his advice rather than begging for a job. You'd be surprised about how willing people are to share their success, and even try to help out people that look up to them (even IB douche bags). Remember, most people aren't doing what you are about to do out of fear. Considering there is a holiday tomorrow, don't hesitate. Reach out tonight.

I'm not following...did you apply for a role at this BB? Is this VP in the group that you applied to? Has HR contacted you for an interview?

"RexTillerson" Shit. This just happened to me.

Is this how you got the job at State?

Hey, Yes - the VP replied eventually and suggested a time to hop on a call with him. We then had a conversation over the phone which went very well. He also offered to help with application in the future. Although I did not find any job posting of my interest, I think this was a good experience.
