Be Prepared and Do Your Research

I will start this by saying, that I found WSO a little to late in the game during my interview prep for making my transition and taking the next steps into a new firm. The month leading up to my superday interview, I was talking to friends, reading text books, internet blogs, and much more in gathering information that would help me to prepare as much as possible when it finally came down to the last minutes before the interview.

If you are an undergrad seeking to start your professional career, I would highly recommend the guides and modelling help that WSO has to offer. I had the chance to read through the guides as well as check out the models they have, and I wish I would have known this four years ago. They are incredibly informative, with guidance to each investment bank and what to expect.

On a side note, one of my favorite questions to ask in a FT front office interview is "What is one of your favorite/unique deals/transactions that you have been able to work on since you have started at firm xxx?"

This question can be used from the analyst level all the way up to the MD level. Bankers love talking about themselves as well as their accomplishments. This temporarily takes the pressure off you and puts it back on them, as well as being able to learn something from them as well. Also, I never found this question through all of my research within the past couple of years of things to ask.

Now that I am finished with my ramble, let the mixed comments of complete hate and love commence. GO!
