Best 1-yr degrees to break into IB with M&A background and an MBA
Hi everybody,
from colleagues you have met and from your experience in the market, what is the best 1-yr degree to break into IB for somebody having over 5 years of M&A experience (closed over 13 transactions in mid-market) and an existing MBA from a European school.
The degree would be to make use of the school's network and to be able to live and work in the US post the degree.
I was considering a STEM-degree or even a 1-yr Law degree in Finance.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Fuck do you need a degree for with all that experience?
Just join a bank with a large US presence and work on transferring.
I wish it was that easy :-D
Honestly mate, if you can't do it with that experience then a degree isn't going to help.
But if you have MBA you can't get another one in the US. Mfin will only give you analyst roles. What is "1-yr Law degree in Finance"? Is it like LLM? I am afraid that's a useless degree in finance.
So agree with above your best bet is to go through experienced hire recruiting, not through campus recruiting.
I think is going on is this person would use the degree to get to the us on a student visa then recruit. In which case a Mfin would probably be the best degree to pursue.
