All, I have an interview coming up and was wondering, what the best groups at Wachovia are?
They have no needs in their LevFin, FSG or Consumer groups.
I am inclined towards tech and M&A but don't know how Wachovia stacks up in those areas. Also, how is the SF office of Wachovia?

The SF office of Wachovia is complete non-player. They don't compete for any of the Tech deals, so if you're thinking Wachovia, stay away from the Tech space. My understanding of their M&A group is that it's good, although relatively small and focusing on more of the MM.
I am not sure how they split groups, but I know that Wachovia is particularly good in the Restaurant space. One of the few spaces where they have consistently been a top ten player, sometimes top 5, for the past few years (they are currently 4th YTD).
I heard once that Wachovia's Real Estate practice is pretty strong. Got nothing to back that up besides a kid at my BB who said that he would take an offer from Wachovia RE "in an instant".
Restaurant would probably be part of Consumer, which he already said is full. I hear from a former grunt that tech at Wachovia is an absolute sweatshop, and not in the good way of getting deal experience to beef the resume up with - you're busting your ass doing pitches your senior guys have zero hope of winning.
