Tough one. Neither really have a good M&A practice in the US. If it was BNP in France, I would say BNP hands down. If the goal is to lateral to a better bank, I think I'd pick BNP. Assuming Truist offer is for their Atlanta HQ, I'd rather be in the NYC office with BNP. I'd also say BNP is a little bit more well known than Truist. Wouldn't say there's a huge difference in rep between the two in the US. I will say that even though BNP has a very good WLB for banking, their bonuses are pretty dog shit. Truist, on the other hand, grinds you a lot on useless pitches but pays really nice bonuses somehow. If you also grew up in or like the south, it could make sense to do Truist in the lower cost of living and then lateral to a NY bank later.
Thanks intern
Would you say this is still the case? Currently have full-time offers from both firms starting summer 2025 and thinking about which to take
Avoid Truist at all costs. Total dumpster fire.
Can I PM you?
Why?
