For BofA, you’ll see the most MF exits from the REGL group
I've heard the deez nuts group is pretty strong
Financial Sponsors pretty much lights out exit to MM/UMM/MFs. Similar, but to less extent for Lev Fin. REGL is great as well.
I would encourage you to check out some other threads on this but M&A / Financial Sponsors / Lev Fin - IE the product groups have the best exits. And REGAL gets great exits to real estate PE. If you want to do a coverage group - Regal & probably CNR are your best bets. FIG / E&P should be avoided at all costs.
by E&P, do you mean the natural resources group? Any particular reasons why?
Yes - that is what I mean. Group culture is very toxic, churn rate for analysts is high, and typically they do not rank well on the league tables either - so really a triple threat. If exit opps are all you’re solving for, nat resources wouldn’t be the optimal choice.
How is FIG? Looking to recruit there this upcoming summer since there are a lot of alum from my school
So - from a reputational stand-point, BofA is not strong in FIG - do not really win big deals since GS and I think JPM (or MS) are the owners of that sector.
Bright side is that the product teams only do modeling for financials businesses that are EBITDA based - so the team will likely pitch you on the fact that they do their own modeling (which is somewhat true). However, on the two FIG accounts I worked on during my time at BofA - I did all the modeling (both payments companies).
From my exposure working with them, the team seems pretty nice. But a friend of mine that just became an associate in the group hasn't been loving the culture.
