Breaking in without the top marks

Hello all, Happy New year to everyone. For my question today, I was wondering wether people had any ideas on how to break into IB. I am still a young student, and I am afraid my grades are not potentially high enough for my future jobs. How can I diversify myself with other criteria to offset my weaker grades? I'm afraid if I cannot achieve something like this, I will never be able to land a job when the time comes.

Any potentially adivce is immensely appreciated, thank you!

Have one back-up plan that can you can see yourself realistically doing if IB doesn't work. This is especially important if you come from a non-target school. Mine is going for a Masters in Accounting and becoming a Big 4 Auditor (CPA) in my state. I know that I'd rather be an Investment Banker than an Auditor which drives me everyday to push closer to my goals, whether that means working to get a higher GPA or networking with alumni.
