Breaking into IB Full Time

Hi guys,

I struck out on IB summer internships, but am still trying for a full time position. For context, I have a 3.9 (probably 3.7/3.8 when I recruit), got to a semi-target, had 2 boutique IB internships, and will be doing a consulting internship this summer.

I'm won't have any FT offers from these internships, so it'll all be networking for finding a FT position. Do you think it's possible to break into full time?

Why won't you have an FT from your consulting internship? Anyways, it should be easier for you to break in given your background, than someone who doesn't have any previous IB internship experience. Almost everyone you speak to will be asking about why the switch from consulting to IB? and pretty much everyone will also ask about if you got a return offer from your internship. Also keep in mind that FT recruiting is usually a lot more condensed compared to SA recruiting, and will start immediately after SA internships end in August and will last for about a month on average (this is assuming we have taken care of COVID by then).

You can definitely break in

Network ————- and you will get interviews
