Business Casual—Intern at EB

Hi everyone,

I’ll be starting an internship at an EB (NYC) in a couple of weeks. They told us the dress code was business casual. What exactly does this mean, and what style of pants/color shirts should I purchase? Thanks!

To be safe, I would wear a suit for the first couple of days, since there will be a lot of meet and greet, roundtables, interaction with senior bankers. After I would probably scale back, but to which degree depends on how other interns dress and other analysts. "Business casual" is somewhat of a nebulous term, but to me it means slacks and shirt. For slacks, stick with black, dark blue, and greys, while shirts should be white and light blue.
