Canadian MBA programs for I Banking/Corp. Banking
Dear All,
I'd appreciate any feedback on recruitment for corp. banking and I banking in Canada at the associate level. I plan to join the McGill MBA program this fall. Is this a target school for banking?
All positive feedback would be higly appreciated.

Rotman and Ivey for MBA - nothing else really comes close. McGill's undergrad is appreciated in the US (oddly enough - because it's not very good for Canadian recruitment), but its MBA is not very well known or respected relative to Rotman and Ivey.
For I-banking, I think only few people from Canadian MBA (Rotman, Ivey) get recruited as Associates. Others come from MBAs in the states.
From what I heard, there are not many spots for Associates in Canada since they tend to promote analysts and the spots are relatively few in the first place.
Thanks for the feedback. Are roles in corp. banking as hard to come by as I Banking. Do the big 5 Canadian banks recruit MBAs for associate positions in corp. banking?

I interested in Canadian MBA programs. My career goals post MBA are to foray into I-Banking/Project Finance/Corp. Banking. I am open to all three. I based in India and do not have much insight about the structure of the Canadian banking industry. My research so far has led me to believe that the Canadian MBA program hierarchy runs like this:
Ivey/Rotman - A league of their own. Ivey's alumni network is probably unmatched in Canada.
Schulich/Queens
McGill/Sauder
I have confined my choices to these MBA programs. As an international student both Ivey and Rotman are incredibly expensive.
I was hoping to gains insights about other programs viz. McGill/Schulich/Queens. After going over the placement stats for 2010, my estimation of the McGill MBA has gone up. I'd appreciate if someone can throw more light on how this program is viewed by I Banks/Corp. Banks. I also feel a 2 year program would be better suited for some like me who has to get acquainted with a new geography. I am a corp. banker in India.
I am not trying to rank B schools or score one over the other.

Hey if applying as an international student is too expensive, why don't you look at Canadian permanent residence? It may take a year or more to acquire, but then you'll be paying domestic fees, plus you can move to Canada..
