Hi everyone. I’m curious if it’s common for a IB summer intern to be able to switch groups if he/she wants to recruit FT at a different bank. For example, let’s say I’m interning at WF/RBC in their industrials group this summer but want a FT offer from a BB in their TMT group. Is it common for the individual to be able to switch coverage/product group?

It's not that common but it definitely happens. I had the chance to change coverage but decided not to in the end.
When you say you had the chance to change do you mean they offered you the opportunity to change or did you get an interview at a different group?
