Yes BlackRock would strengthen your investment banking applications more than an actual investment bank. Oh and blackrock( a firm with operations mainly in public markets) will set you up better for PRIVATE equity applications than an investment bank with a much more proven track record of sending people to pe. Lmao, bro made an account just to set OP up.

Citi's whole marketing tactic to attract talent is that there's almost a guaranteed spot for Spring Week participants to convert into a Summer Internship. BlackRock runs an extensive summer internship recruitment programme to fill spots, Citi only has few vacancies open for their Summers.

Citi Easily(on an objective basis). BB/EB IB trumps AM In pretty much every metric besides work-life balance (Blackrock has a very good wlb: pay ratio). As for the spring, just choose whichever has the best balance of prestige and conversion rates, and Citi beats BlackRock in both those metrics. Worst case scenario, you realise you hate IB after your spring and you now want to do a top 3 AM summer. In that case, it will be much easier to leverage a Citi spring week to get a BlackRock summer than if it were the other way around.

Would recommend the Citi offer. Highly dependent on the division but BR generally extends offers to about 50-70% of interns. 40% if you're in Tech teams - it's especially brutal there. Heard there was a VP that came in on the second day, straight up said there was 16 slots for the 40 interns and most of them wouldn't be there the next year lmao.
