depends on job listing, some are specific co-op positions for targeted unis, which you probably wont see on the banks website. but if its on the banks job portal, then ur good
For instance, RBC has a fall internship posting in TO targeted to Co-op students. Wouldn't it be awkward if you were to receive an interview and then asked if you're in Co-op?
oh didnt realize they have a co-op posting on their website, when i was applying the co-op links were unique to the school portals posting, and i had to apply through both my school and the bank. But then yea you'd have to be in co-op for that
No. I doubt they care. But fyi those off cycle internships are meant for schools like Waterloo/Laurier who have co-op programs and can work their school schedule around doing a fall or winter internship
from what i heard (not sure anymore) is that some co-op ib positions are solely for co-op students due to partnership with schools co-op program - may be wrong, feel free to correct
I think it is reserved solely for Co-Op students, but I just wanted to make sure. I always felt like maybe the banks wouldn't mind hiring outside of Co-Op if the applicant pool was considerably better or what not.
I mean just shoot your shot dude. The worst that can happen is that they say no. But i think as part of their application process they do ask if your apart of an accredited co-op program, but not sure if it has an impact
You don't have to be enrolled in a co-op program, you can call that an off-cycle/winter/autumn internship. Keep in mind that non-summer interns have a lot less chance to get return offers and get paid less (50--60-70-80k depending on semester and firm) vs. 85k for summer analysts.
