Compensation for First Year Analyst in Hong Kong
Does anyone know what the market rate is? Is rent allowance part of the package or do you have to negotiate it?

As far as I know...from what other analysts have told me...the Hong Kong Salary is broken into three components :
Base ($60-62k) + Housing Allowance ($20k) + Bonus (Depends on Firm, Regional Performance, Divisional & Individual Performance)
However the attractive feature is the 15% tax rate !
Can some one comment about the bonus in Hong Kong ? How does it vary across the following firms: UBS, JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup ?
I have heard some firms would be negotiable, MS is not flexible in salary negotiation. Does anyone have more information?
its actually quite a bit more than what netking put down. Housing is about 8k USD more, plus 200k HKD "analyst cash allowance", plus bonus. Bonuses are on par with NYC. But if you're American you get double-taxed.... =(
Cannot American's just keep all the money offshore and never repatriate it?
dude, the IRS will. fucking. get. you. You could probably do it and never come back to America, if that is what it came down to...
