Compensation meeting advice
Hi All - with comp season approaching I’m wondering if anyone has any stories or tips for junior guys in these meetings.
I’m at a smaller bank most junior on my team by far and know I’m getting paid well below market for NY. Similar to some operation salary for IB.
At larger banks I know it’s fairly transparent with salary and promotion and bonus buckets but what about at smaller firms?
I don’t know if they know they’re underpaying me and don’t care or are so out of touch they don’t even realize. Either way I want to bring it up not to exactly ask for more just ask for what the money looks like down the road. Any tips stories or suggestions would be appreciated.
