Cornell AEM vs Vanderbilt
I am a Vanderbilt freshman but have been accepted to Cornell AEM as a transfer. Is this worth the moe for the boost in BB recruiting?

No.
any reasons?
Cornell AEM is recruited pretty heavily across the BBs. What particular program are you in at Vandy? I'd lean more towards taking the transfer, but there's a BIG cultural difference between those 2 universities.
I'm just in College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Economics
Yes I believe that it would be worth it, especially if you're looking to end up in NY. I transferred to AEM this past year, PM if you have questions.
Hello, I have a few questions. How did you transfer to Cornell's AEM, as a junior or a sophomore? Did you transfer from a community college or a four year?
As a sophomore, they no longer accept junior transfers. I transferred from another four year school's business program.
Thank you for your reply. I recently spoke with an AEM advisor. I was told that they "rarely" admit juniors. I still don't know the reason why, since I wasn't told. Do you know anybody, who transferred as a Junior (from the time they admitted juniors) to aem? I was told that I'll have a better chance for HOTEL! But I'm not sure if hotel is a right school for an IB career
I've honestly never heard of any junior transfers but if they told you that it must be true. I'd assume its a very special/unique situation (non-traditional student, I've met a kid in AEM undergrad who was 26 and had been in the military I believe). AEM is definitely prime for IB recruitment, but Hotel places many into SA/FT roles as well. Realistically, you can get into IB from anywhere as long as your story is good and you can learn basic business fundamentals for interviews (finance/accounting concepts mainly). Your biggest challenge as transferring as a junior will be trying to jump right in at a new school while also preparing for the SA recruiting cycle, as Fall is when the info sessions are and by January you start to get into interview season. Good luck, if you have any other questions PM me!
You really should pay attention to the significant cultural differences in the 2 schools. Vandy is work hard / play hard... Cornell is high stress and notorious for high suicide rates. Then again, you're a freshman thinking of transferring for the sole purpose of BB recruiting, which makes me want to vomit, so you're probably not enjoying Vandy anyhow.
