Coworker making me look bad

So I’m a first year and was responsible for task A. I sent an initial draft and waited for comments and received them, but then my my fellow analyst completely undermined me, changed everything and is now receiving credit for it. Should I be upset/ or concerned this should reflect poorly on me?

Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights and advice for your situation:

  1. Document Everything: Keep a record of your initial draft, the comments you received, and any changes made by your fellow analyst. This documentation can be useful if you need to explain your contributions later.

  2. Communicate Professionally: Consider having a professional conversation with your fellow analyst. Express your concerns about the changes and how it affects your work and recognition. Ensure the discussion is constructive and focused on collaboration.

  3. Seek Feedback: If you feel comfortable, discuss the situation with your supervisor or manager. Ask for feedback on your initial draft and how you can improve. This shows initiative and a willingness to learn.

  4. Focus on Your Performance: Continue to deliver high-quality work and maintain a positive attitude. Your consistent performance will eventually be recognized.

  5. Learn from the Experience: Use this as a learning opportunity to understand office dynamics and improve your approach to teamwork and communication.

Remember, it's important to stay professional and focused on your growth and contributions.
