CS employee. What to do?

I work at CS as an investment banking associate.

Apparently CS is getting acquired. Anything I should be doing now?

Shall I expect there to be cost synergies with at least say 80% of my current team to be let go?

Anything I could do to lower the damage / take away with me resources before I’m gone?

Anyone who has gone through similar situations can share some general or specific advice on this?

Appreciate this

Bump. If you're in NY advisory I'd say you're better off than everyone else. Would just look elsewhere, network as a hedge and try to get more timeline on merger meanwhile

Unfortunately I’m in a group that is IPO focused and well, no such groups are hiring as far as I know.

Kinda want to give up looking for jobs now as it’s like finding a needle in a haystack.

Many of my former colleagues who got laid off have not found a job yet…

I really do not know rationally what I should be doing now to get “the most” out of my current situation / reduce the damage..

Any advice appreciated

Oof equity new issues have gotta be slim pickings at best right now. I don’t have much advice but good luck and I guess hope you did well enough before to hang around until the market turns around

As someone who graduated in the GFC and saw many colleagues / mentors laid off in the recession that followed, I’d recommend you network like crazy, apply for other jobs, and stay healthy (eat healthy, workout in the gym, etc) to keep your mind right. Sorry you are going through this. Hang in there and know that everything will be alright.
