deal vol????
ok so 3rd year in a row when we have heard that “deal activity will pickup soon”. Unlike 22, 23, i actually believed this. Now q1 is wrapping up and frankly I don’t see it. We have done some deals + financings, but really the m&a market has been ice cold. Definitely seeing some mandates and activity, but there are strong undertones of uncertainty.
In short, seems like everyone agrees the market is gonna pickup and is preparing for it, but no one feels inclined to pull the trigger to actually do a deal. Are others seeing something similar? What do you guys thing about “market bouncing bac in 2024”?
